WHAT IS COACHING?
The International Coach Federation defines coaching as:
“...an interactive process that helps individuals and organisations to develop more rapidly and produce more satisfying results. Coaches work with clients in all areas including business, career, finances, health and relationships. As a result of coaching, clients set better goals, take more action, make better decisions and more fully use their natural strengths”
Whilst this is a good, comprehensive definition of coaching, here at Cameron-Bates we prefer the more succinct approach of Sir John Witmore who describes coaching as:
“...unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance”.
Sir John Witmore's words are very important as coaching is about you the client not the coach. Coaching is a collaborative, non-directive process where you and your coach work together to create change. Your coach is not there to tell you what you should do or give you off the shelf answers like, for example, a consultant would. Instead, they will help and encourage you to develop solutions that are unique to your own individual circumstances thereby ensuring those solutions will be successful.
Cameron-Bates Coaches are accredited Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) Master Coaches and have a wealth of experience to support your organisation in the following areas:
- Executive Coaching
- Business Coaching
- Personal Coaching
- Lifestyle Coaching
